Before losing 100lbs naturally, I had struggled with my weight all my life. Any fad diet you name it I had tried it. NOTHING seemed to work. I would workout, and drastically change my eating habits for a short period of time then fall off. It was a never ending cycle.
In 2015, I had a health scare and unexpectedly had to have open heart surgery. The doctors told me I may not be able to have children depending on whether they had to repair or replace the valve in my heart. This was a scary time in my life. I had no children, and I always dreamed of being a mother.
Fortunately, the valve in my heart was repaired and I was able to have children. A little over a year later in 2016 I had my son. After a successful surgery and having my son I knew it was time to take my health more seriously. Giving up was no longer an option; I had a son I wanted to be around to see grow up, and I was tired of quitting on me!
This weight loss journey has been filled with many highs and lows. But now I know what it takes to lose a significant amount of weight, and it is my goal to help other women do the same. A huge part of my weight loss was having accountability, and surrounding myself with individuals that had a common goal.
